RSS Configuration Tool

In this documentation we will go through the functionality of the rss configuration tool.

By default Carnivore has three configured RSS feeds to read from:

  1. YouTube: Carnivore/Hacksuite videos, not updated very often if at all
  2. Blogger: Carnivore/Hacksuite blog posts, not updated very often if at all
  3. Suite Update: Check if there are new Carnivore versions available

RSS feeds these days are not very popular anymore. They can however be a very useful feature to extract new content from websites.

Expanding RSS Tool:

In order to add new RSS feeds to this application, you need two files:

  1. RSS/xx.php: the file that extracts the rss feed, when creating a new file make sure to check existing rss files in Carnivore and take the same approach
  2. Data/remote.php: properties for the rss feed

Known Issues:

As with all settings that require Carnivore to access a remote site for information, you need to enable this in the configuration.
